2011 Spring Cruise - Awards

Man, I don't know where to start - Wait, Yes, I do.

1) Ryan gets the unprecedented first place award for completely turning the earth in the opposite direction, shifting it off it's axis and foiling the rapture single handedly by making more than one pass in a single cruise event and NOT breaking anything!

2)The purple cougar (or early Mustang?) for scaring the shit out of me and a few others with a mondo nitrous backfire.

3)bottlefedstang for having the loudest car on the premises, bar none.

4)RedSS/6speed car -driving the hell out of that car ALL night. (SUX2BU, DMCracer - Edit, Hell-bent SS)

5)Dville_gt for bieng the craziest mofo and driving that car on it's maiden voyage TO the track, making a bunch of passes and driving home. kudos for sure.

6)longest thrash before the cruise - I'll take the honors on this one, for the past few days I've worked non-stop to make sure the truck ran AT the cruise. I drove it at 1:30 the day of the cruise, and that was just to the end of the block to make sure the brakes worked! (thanks to Mr. Clean for all the help getting it done!)

7)Tard of the event goes to a different red-ss, backing up into the water, and not checking to see if it's in reverse or not, and dumping the clutch in Reverse.

8)Most beautiful car there, hmmm.. I'll have to take the red turbo-cobra on that one, Maybe King Joey's car.. it's tough. Both Excellent looking cars.

9)Unc for taking the longest scenic route in history to get to the cruise - driving to Denton FIRST (thinking we were there.) and following through and coming back to TXR!

10)carless chris for not oiling the track down, oh - wait, he wasn't there!

11)oreostang's dad for winning the brackets again!

I called it a few weeks back saying Ryan wouldn't break anything. And kudos to my dad again for winning it even though the trophy said dfwstangs. Might as well have said canada. Lol

Still having trouble getting the right launch technique on drag radials. Next cruise out it will be out there on slicks again to get the most out of the combo.

Now if you can just get those cam specs to degree the cams right it will run even faster.

Gettin old

I guess I'm gettin old. I thought the cruise was at Denton. I drive all the way to NS and pull in the pits and I'm not seeing nothing but dragsters and backhalf cars. I call bottlefedstang and asked em where this was happenin at and he said kennedale. He said, "You must be gettin old Unc, that sounds like sumthin I'd do". So I turned around, $12 to get in, and headed to kennedale. I tried to talk the lady at the gate into lettin me in free, but she didn't go for it! lol

You need to spin your tires less/not at all in the water box. I went behind you and when you pulled up to the line you still had water dripping from the fender wells.... but that's not my excuse why i couldn't hook lol

closing early sucked for me. There were a couple things I wanted to try, but I was waiting until after sundown. I thought they were joking about closing early until they covered up the tree.
