  • dvi/hdmi adapter

Does any local electronic store carry a dvi/hdmi adapter. I've got the old school big screen but only has a dvi connection and just bought a blueray player which has the hdmi connection. So now I need an adapter.

Best Buy should have them. The real question is whether your old TV will support 1080p or if it's even HDCP compliant?

The dvi doesn't carry sound? I'm new to surround sound. I like my old school big screen better then any new lcd tv. Plus they are cheap used.

the DVI input does not carry sound. You'll need dual RCA for audio on that TV

look to the bottom right of the DVI section in the pic

                    not really

Although DVI can carry it, it depends on the device(s). Yours requires the separate audio cables.

You can upgrade the wires to a bigger gauge but I highly doubt you'll notice a difference.
