  • Running forums?

I want to start seriously training for short to medium distance races (3-10Mile), focusing on speed. I am a complete novice when it comes to running. I have always been involved in athletics from baseball, to football and wrestling, and ran up to four miles a day at times, but never timed and never because I wanted to.

Having said that, I was wondering if anyone here has a local or regional running oriented forum they would recommend for me to get some pointers, tips etc on how to properly go about training?

Also, if anyone in the HEB area wants to start this training process with me let me know, I plan on running Monday-Friday, early in the mornings at the Raider bowl (football field with running track at L.D. Bell HS).

    TIA!

http://www.active.com/ in the resources section has everything from calculators to running plans, etc. I also get training tips by e-mail about weekly. You can also try doing a meetup.com search to find a running group in your area, but chances are, there is already one specific to your town. Also try Runontexas.com. http://www.runnersworld.com/ has forums too, if you want to chat with like minded folks.
