  • Cloning a Drive

Any recommendations? My sister wants to upgrade her drive (40 gb) but doesn't have a back up or recovery disc. I wanna get her a bigger drive for her birthday. And just do a mirror image from the old one.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated. TIA

You can use DriveimageXML to create a backup image, just be sure you don't select the sector by sector option as it will only restore back to the same partition size. Replace the hard drive and restore the image (easier if you use BartPC or some other boot disk that has DriveimageXML as part of the package, or addable),

I always use the clone tool bundled with Acronis True Image 10. Let me know and I can make you a boot cd with them.
