  • Fixing paint scratches

I've got a LOT of scratches on my truck. From moving, assholes with door dings, etc. What is the best way to go about fixing them, without repainting the whole thing. A lot of them are down to the primer and can't be buffed out.

What color? Repainting is really the only option to make it look new again. Black is the only color that matches w/ touch up and you can still see the repair. An old timer trick with black is to touch it up w/ lacquer and sanded/buffed after it dries, very effective.

Anything down to the primer will need to be re-shot. You could try what sdun mentions above but IMO that doesn't always make for a happy customer.

Depends on how many there are. It may be worth your while just to get it repainted. At $30/hour for detailing, you will be looking at at least a few hundred for it to be done right.
