03 cobra tank/pump/sender plugged right into my 2000 GT...so it might.

That likely won't work...it's all a single piece with the fuel pump setup. Why don't you buy the V6 part?

i have a f.o.r.e triple hat and just need the sending unit thing. The tank I bought didnt come with the fuel pump assembly and my 96 cobra one won't work. I guess I could find a used gt or v6 sending unit from a 99-04 mustang?

the sender for the cobra is different

I had a 98 sender, 01 sender, and had to buy an 03 sender from rockauto.com(cheapest, no longer available seperate from ford, comes as an entire assembly) when I put an 03 tank in my 98 with a fore hat.

yep, pretty much. I went down this road already, you might check rockauto.com, it's been over a year since I did mine.
