  • Year old band saw blade pulley BROKE

Check out this carnage. Happened when cutting material for an exhaust. Blade was right in the middle of loose and tight. I didn't think these would break so easy. I've only had the saw for 2 years. Luckily I was able to weld the cast back together so I can finish this job.

It was 40 degrees outside when I welded it and I put a bunch of oil absorbent on the floor, then put the pulley in it, then buried it. Let it sit and slowly cool in there for a little over an hour, then when I pulled it out, it was still about 80 degrees.

I will take pics of it welded up and back on the machine tonight when I get to the shop, this is all I had time to take right now.

I almost picked up one of those jet bandsaw's but I think I will wait and find a used american one.
