  • Finally a stainless V8 exhaust

Finished my first V8 stainless ehaust. The car is a Nissan 240SX with a LS1 in it. 3" from the headers to single 3.5". Enjoy the pics.

Looks like it ought to work pretty well. It may not be the prettiest, but it certainly covers function well. The merge being the one thing that really stands out.

I do like the "sleeper" single muffler like any other 240 would have.

It's definitely better than any stainless exhaust I've got, much less made.

      Got any sound clips?

That is pretty impressive. Also that is one hell of a cool car!

I will take a sound clip tonight since it was too late to take one last night. I finished about 1 am and had to be to work this morning at 9am.

The welds on the 16ga will look better once I get my .040 filler instead of this 1/16 that I am using. I hate the way 1/16 filler welds on 16ga. It is hard to control the puddle since you can't dab just a small amount.

              Very nice looking work.

I'm curious, but is there any specific reason for using the stainless?
When the government pays, the government controls.

That LS1 would eat the ass-end right off of my turd! I still love it, though. All 260 rwhp! LOL!

It's what the customer wanted. The only reason to use it over steel is for the rust factor. I can't really think of any other reason though.

The whole exhaust was back purged when I welded it.

Bruns....bwuhuhhuh that shit has a tax on it. You use stainless because it looks better, better heat retention, doesn't rust. Down side is its $$$ and prone to cracking. Hell just the back purging will use up quite a bit of argon with that much area and with all the other consumables it adds up quick.

Great look'n setup. Does that have a 99-04 Mustang hood scoop on it? If so SEND ME PICS PUNK, YOU PROMISED! [Just kidd'n about the punk part. ]
