Astro van AWD drag link woes

Hey guys, having an issue that i hope you guys can help with. I bought a federal mogul brand replacement from rockauto. When i go to install the new nuts on the drag link the studs/balls just spin in the socket, so they will not tighten up. I tried using channel locks to squeeze the drag link into the pitman arm while i tighten it but it still spins.

Should i send this thing back or am i missing something obvious?

Run into this all the time putting balljoints and shit back together, put the jack under the joint and apply some pressure to it.
