  • Looking for a good chop saw blade..Where and what brand?

Well I'm on the hunt for some good blades for my chop saw.
I have a Dewalt 14'' chop saw and I've attempted to use the Dewalt brand double reinforced blades from Home Depot, Lowes and Tractor Supply, but unfortunately they suck. So im trying to see what others have used that are good. I dont mind ordering online or paying the price for a good blade as long as its better then the Dewalt blades.. Any good blades to look out for?

I guess no one owns a chop saw, I guess everyone has a band saw.

As cooter said - what exactly are you cutting?

I don't think there's much of a difference in the name brands, they all seem to last about the same for me - but I quit using them when I bought a bandsaw.

There's a few things that affect the blade's life though - like the type of material, the configuration of the material and how rigid the setup of the material is.

In any event, these types of blades are obviously expendable, and you just may not be used to how long they really do last.

I own a chop saw, but haven't used it in years. I actually bought my band saw a couple months after the chop saw so I never needed to change the wheel.

Go to Airgas, they have a good selection for various metal types.

I have a shitty Clark with a no-name type blade. It cuts everything I throw at it. Roll cage tubing, .120 wall stuff, 1/4 plate, ect.....

Go to northern tool, where I get mine at. Cheaper sometimes too. I have found that the dewalt or name brand tool cut off wheels suck.

I have a blade I got from Home Depot, forgot the brand but the brand label is blue.

Well the size im cutting varies.
                              from rebar to peoples arms.
I was cutting some square tubing the other day and that bitch was taking some time.
So its not like im cutting a certain thickness, i just want a good blade that I can depend on.
