  • 2.3 to 5.0 swap first passes.

Finally had good enough weather to see how the car would do on the track.

Car needs DR's badly. Spun almost all the way down finally grapping traction in 3rd. Lowered tire pressure to 18psi and launched easy out of the hole which helped a little.

    Best time:
    R/T .408
    60' 2.12
    1/8 8.88
    MPH 81.40

Fresh 5.0 swap with about 2500 miles GT40p heads, Typhoon intake, bcam, 1.7 rockers, FRPP shorty headers , offroad H, Magnaflow catback.

    Video Sorry for shitty quality.

First pass. Spun like crazy and went 10.6 @ 74 mph.

    Best pass.

You went From 2.3 to 5.0, and yet you are slower than a 2.3.... sounds like you went backwards....

My little 2.3 was running 7.40's @94 mph......

      .

But then again i did have a small hair dryer on it..

      Get some tires...

Congrats on getting it up & running. I can only imagine all the hard work that went in to making that swap happen & all the parts you had to track down to do it! Good looking hatch too!

I plan on getting some used slicks here pretty soon. If and when the weather gets a little warmer, and after I get use to the car i'll post some quicker times. I'm shooting for the 8.20-8.30's.
