  • Static at low volume??

I have a speaker that seems to have some static and distortion at low volumes. If I turn it up the sound clears up. Any ideas what's going on here?

      Car? house? computer?
Connect a different speaker to that location and see if it does the same thing. If so, amp, headunit, etc. if not, speaker is bad. Sometimes, a speaker with a bad voice coil will not play at all at low volume but will begin to play when the volume is turned up.

Truck door speaker. Voice coil would make sense I think. It's worse with just talk radio
