Help with window trim

My father in law gave us his old car after buying a new one. We are giving it a nice clean, but aren't sure what to do here. The trim around the windows has what I'm guessing is oxidation, but wax doesn't seem to do anything to it. Any ideas how to clear this up?

It's in the clear coat, you'll need to sand and polish it. It that doesn't work you'll need to strip it and start over.

Is that black or chrome trim ?

Usually, i try compound , then a glaze and it always works!

No shit. All I got out of my marriage was a microwave that we didn't need and a bunch of old beat to shit hand me downs.
