Radiant Barrier

I have been researching this for two days, and alas, I have come to the all knowing gurus of all things, dfwmustangs. Bottom line is, have any of you tried it? In my research I know I want a two sided perforated aluminum foil stapled to the rafters. What I can't find is an answer to how well does it work?

All I know is when our house was built, the decking had the foil looking radiant barrier on each sheet already, and in the midst of the summer heat, my attic is not much warmer than it is outside. Like 10 - 15 degrees warmer.
