  • cleaning inner fenders and underbody of grime

My zephyr looks like it has had 30plus years of oil, trans fluid, powersteering hose blowouts.

This is caked all under the car. Normal foaming degreaser it laughs at. Ive scraped what i can.

Here is an example from the k member i pulled out.

Foaming engine degreaser, a big nylon brush and a powerwasher. I saw a guy doing it with simple green, but IMO the engine degreaser works better and faster.

Oven cleaner and a powerwasher will do wonders on that thing.

It laughs at the foaming degreaser.

I do have a power washer but no hot water hookup outside. I cant get it out yet as its still freezing at night here. I winterize it.

            Oven cleaner you say?

Oven cleaner. It will take off the paint too.

Haha i figured oven cleaner would be a little overkill.

Soon as it warms up ill goto town with the pressure washer and see what that does.

Why would you heat hot water?

X2. Dollar store oven cleaner. Toilet Duck works pretty good too if you can find it. Where you have access, a putty knife and some elbow grease will remove the majority of it before you powerwash.

Lil heat goes a long way.

Back when I was in highschool, my dad bought out a carpet cleaning company that was going under that we used all the time on fire resto work. With that, we got a true steam carpet cleaner. I figured out that I could put a pressure washer wand on the end of it, and could steam clean engine bays, parts, etc. It worked wonders.
