6x9 vs 6.5 door speakers

I have a 2010 Tacoma and it has 6x9's in the doors with a separate tweeter (in doors as well). I have no rear speakers in the half doors as I have an Access Cab and Toyota opted to remove the rear 6.5's and put some crappy tweeter speakers in the head liner.

So should I go with a good set of Focal 6x9's or should I get adapters and put 6.5 speakers in the doors? I will be “dynamiting” the doors, but I will also have a 10" sub in the back. So really I just need mid's and highs out of the front door speakers.

Any pros and cons on 6x9 vs 6.5 speakers considering my "application"?

find a better brand and use 6.5 components
