  • Decent 380 for part time carry

I have a Beretta 96a1 .40, Glock 36 .45 (my carry), a Sig Pro 9mm (also carry sometimes) I now want to somewhat complete my collection with a decent priced (under $450) 380 that I may carry during the summer when needed. Any suggestions? TIA.

Just save up $50 more and get a Sig P238. I absolutely love mine. Its my warm weather CW and that is about 10 months out of the year. I am shopping for aftermarket grips for mine right now.

          C'mon man!
For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

If I was in the market for a 380, I'd go with the LCP. It's a good value and has good reviews. The Sig is a good pistol (as are all Sigs), but I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much more for a 380.

The P238 is nice. Shoots great, but is pricey and SA only. That scares some people.
LCP and P3AT are the same gun for all practical purposes. Both will eat what you feed it.
I don't have any experience with the S&W Bodyguard. I'm not big on the integrated laser/light. If that messes up you're out a pistol until it gets fixed.
I've read several threads about the TCP ejecting the shells at the shooter's forehead. No firsthand knowlege of this, but something to check out.

I have and carry a P238 and LCP. If you are goin to pocket carry, I'd go LCP/P3AT. The less weight keeps it from swinging as bad in a cargo pocket, and the smaller size fits more comfortably and draws easier from a front pocket. If back pocket, jacket, or IWB carry I like the P238.

The cheapest price I've seen on a P238 was mid $400s for a base model at Academy. They don't keep them for long though.

I carry mine either in my back pocket or shorts cargo pocket in the trusty Galco pocket holster.

I carry a Bersa thunder 380 sometimes. I bought it used for $200. Good, cheap and not plastic.
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.
