  • Looking for good way to make door bars removable

Need help in finding a good way to make a door bars removable. It is a wolfe mid steel roll bar, car has not seen a track in about 7-8 years and the bars wear on the seat moving forward and back. Putting 89 sport seat in and like to remove bars and be able to reinstall if or when I go back to the track.

All you need is a door bar swing out kit. Competition Engineering makes a couple types.

Those ear type ones they sell at Summit and Jegs are not very strong. Even though they cost more I'd go for a clevis type swingout kit.
      Here is an example:
These kits enable the side bar pivot points to be located in the door opening area. The male clevis welds to a short length of tubing that attaches to the main hoop on one end, and the cage side at the other end. The swing out bar with female clevises on each end attaches to the male clevises using a 1/2" grade 8 bolt at one end and a 1/2" detent pin at the other.

The one jamesb had made for my cage is even better as the upper part that the bar swings into is solid on the side facing the interior so the bar won't swing inwards even if the pin were to break.
Here is a pic of what I'm talking about:
