  • HP TouchPad

I've been shopping for a pad/tablet of some sort and I've really considered an iPad but before I jump on the Apple bandwagon I wanted to check out my other options.

Does anyone know if these HP Touch Pads coming out are supposed to be decent?

Is there a specific OS you're looking to use?

Not really, I've used the Android OS on my phone the past 2 years and am very familiar with it, and I've used the Apple OS on my iPod touch ever since I've had it so I'm familiar with that as well.

Mostly what I'm looking for in a tablet is what will have the better/best battery life, display, and overall functionality. I know they'll all be the same for the most part.

Just curious, what do you have against Apple products?

I bought her a macbook pro a couple years ago, 6 months ago we took it in for repair, they replaced the logicboard for around 700.00 and last month its having the same exact problem. They said the repair warranty was only good for 3 months so we are SOL. They want to charger her another 700 to fix it. Oh yea and the battery is a piece of shit.

So run down, we have a broke ass computer we have over 3000 in, and apple could give a shit less

Hate to say it but that's not just Apple, unless you purchase an extended warranty you're going to run into that from any computer maker in one way or another. I know this for a fact because I work tech support and make multiple calls a week for everything from Dells to HP's to IBM's and most of the time it's cheaper just to buy a new computer when it's not under warranty.

I also hate to say it but you should know going in that you're always going to pay more for Apple products... always.

I'd give you a hands-on review of mine(ASUS), but it was delivered at the neighboring office today while I was out of town. by the time I got back they were already closed.

well, I have always thought apple was over priced, and I personally never have or planned on owning a mac. Although Im not happy with pc, its half the price so I put up with it.

I did assume mac was a better made computer, I guess in the long run we're just paying for the name

Where did you take it in for repairs? I hope not Apple if it was out of warranty. I have 5 year old MacBook that's still running like a champ and they only problem I've had with it (other than replacing the battery) was a bad right click on the touch pad. Found a guy on Craiglist that fixed it for like $50.

I think HP is coming out with a tablet running Win7 pretty soon. Blackberry has there own and of course Apple iOS and Andriod. I'd still go with the iPad.
