  • Assistance needed...TIA

I am trying to install a PC game and keep getting a message saying that I need administrator permission to install the game. I am set up as the administrator. I try to right click on d drive and "run as administrator" but the option is not there. I also checked my admin rights and I have full permission. Any ideas or suggestions? TIA

I opened the files on the cd and did "run as admin" but got the same results.

I need you to be a little more vague about everything.

Sorry...what other info do you need? I am using Windows 7.

What game are you trying to install, and screen shot of the error please.

I tried a restore to an earlier point and all hell broke loose. I got the black screen of death. After getting that worked out the game still will not install.

            The game is D&D: Daggerdale

I tried to take a screenshot but for some reason it won't take one.

I have tried everything I have found in other forums for the problem, but to no avail. When it gave me an issue I opened a box stating why and I briefly (before the box closed itself) saw a box that was checked with "use XP service pack2". I am using Windows 7 so I don't know why the box would be checked, and I don't know where to go to uncheck that box. Thanks for any help on this guys...it is really staring to be annoying.

Firgured it out. I had to activate the "hidden admin account" through dos and use that account to download the game. What a pain in the ass. I have never had to do this for any downloads. Fuck you Atari. To top it off..the disk I bought did not even contain the game. It contains a download for a site called steam that you enter the product key in and download from there. Fuck you Atari. Rant off.

If anyone has any questions about admin rights and such let me know...I am fucking expert now with all of the shit I have had to read. Second rant off.

In case they have forgotten by now...fuck you Atari.

                    Thanks for the 2600 though.
