  • SD Card not reading.

    Alrighty, My friend wanted me to put a movie on an 4gb sd card. Well problem is it wont read it or anything. Ill put my sd cards in and it reads em just fine. So whats the deal??

    bad card or a picky card reader...

    Try it on another computer and see if it reads. If it works, then you may try a different reader(USB add on) on your computer.

      i tried 2 diff readers, one on my printer and then this lil portable device that has all diff types of card slots.

        someone told me once if it does that to format the card.

          make sure the sd card is not an SDHC, a lot of older card readers wont read them

                  i can format it through the camera but thats it. lol. i formated it on the camera twice and it didnt do a damn thing.

                      You can buy software that will collect data off that card, including stuff you may have deleted off of it in the past.

                        good find but wont work. No software can do anything if the card can't be read. He already found he is trying to read an sdhc card in an sd slot.

                              It can sometimes. Ive used software in the past that has picked up the memory card in the reader, even if the computer wasnt reading it. Im sure there is a certain point where nothing can read it, but it can work. Seems like a 40 dollar gamble though lol.

                              On a side note, I know if you buy one of the SanDisk Extreme Memory cards, it includes a free year of RescuePro as of a couple weeks ago
