Hits within the 8,9 & 10 ring are worth 5 points. Hits within the 7-ring are 4 points, while those outside the 7-ring and still on the silhouette are 3 points. Hits in the white area of the target are 0 points. You have three opportunties to take the range proficiency portion of the test in the event you do not qualify with a passing score. Ammunition is not included in the price of the course, students will provide their own ammunition. If you need to requalify, you will need to either purchase additional ammunition or provide your own.

While typically I would recommend that you take a basic class first, we will work with newer shooters as much as possible during the range qualifications. We do currently offer a shortened basic handgun class an hour before the main class if you are interested. We also do the full length basic shooting class on the weekends (anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on the class size).

Right now due to the heat, we are shooting first thing in the morning and then spend the rest of the day in the classroom.

Yea taking the basic class ahead of time sounds like the way to go. I'm going to talk to the wife and see if she will do it with me.
