  • Sig522 or GSG-5

Looking to get a plinker with the extra scratch I'm getting for working Christmas this year. I've been eying both guns and can't make a decision. Anyone have any insight as to which one is the best bang for the buck?

      THIS!

But, if you're set on the SIG or the GSG....I'd go SIG522. I've shot many different setups of the SIG522, and they are solid .22LR carbines.

And a lot of fun, too!

Go with which ever feels best. I have a 3rd Gen GSG5 and love it, though I want a Sig as well. ATI who imports the GSG has some pretty good customer service skills and the GSG subforum at ar15.com can probably fill you in on all the good and bad about the rifle. GSG mags are expensive, not sure about the Sig mags but the GSG probably avg $20-$25 ea for OEM and a little less for the Promags.

However the 10/22 I bought my son last year has had the most use, especially after I got him a UTG rail, bipod, and cheapo 3-9x scope.

The only way you might go wrong is that I don't think you could ever make the GSG as accurate as you could a 10/22, so if that is what you wanted out of it get the 10/22 or maybe the Sig.

I think I'm going to go with the SIG. After reading some reviews and watching some videos I'm sold. I'll probably pick up a 10/22 later this next year, after I get my SBR stamp and shorty AR upper. Thanks for the advice guys.
