  • Bulb burned out in Sony TV after 6 years. Not bad I guess.

It has eleventybillion hours on it for sure. I did run it at a lower brightness setting for over 5 years so I'm sure that helped it out. I noticed that the screen was darker over the last two days and now it is dead. Where to buy bulb? I'm going to look on AVS forums for recommendations as well.

I just went online and looked for the cheapest one that didn't have too many bad reviews. Seemed like they all had a couple of bad reviews, but some had a bunch. Do the research to make extra sure you're getting the correct bulb for your model. Took me just a few minutes to switch out and made a big difference.

Got a Philips bulb from Atlas Electronics in Dallas. A little more than absolute lowest interweb price but not bad. 8661 hours on bulb run at reduced power. TV looks much better now.
