  • Im locked out of my gun safe!

Well I dont know whats going on with my gun safe, Im completely locked out of it. Its a Winchester I bought from Granite in Ft Worth. I opened it and got a pistol out, closed it, then tried to get back in to get a mag thats already loaded. I enter the code and get two beeps, and hear the solenoid click like it always has, but the lever will not turn in any direction. I havent had a chance to contact the company yet. Has anybody ever had this happen?

Concur, I'd try that first. Although, all the Winchesters I had with the electronic locks have not exhibited that behavior. They do that beeping crap when the battery is low, but so far it's always opened the mechanism.

Make sure the handle is turned fully towards the "lock" direction before putting in your code. If its not that, its likely the battery

I would say you could shoot it open, but you are screwed.

They can be opened with a torch pretty easy just takes a little time.

Yeah true...or even a pry bar if it comes down to destroying the safe. Probably just cheaper to get someone out to get it open and replace the lock/mechanism with an upgraded version that better/more reliable.

No emergency key slot behind the key pad?

Or the keys are on a hook, inside the safe.

Don't torch it, as soon as that torch hits any type of insulation in the safe your house will be smelling for weeks. I would just call a locksmith if all else fails.
