  • 95 gt cutting out

    i have a 95 gt stock. After running a while it just dies. then it wont start. Then it will start after a few minutes. Cant figure what its causing it.


    2003 f250
    1990 mustang gt stock 68k miles
    1990 mustang gt 347 t56
    1994 peterbilt 377 dump truck 450hp cat
    1997 freightliner 500hp detriot[/FONT]

    Check the coil first, or the tfi module.

      TFI. It's been Ford's bane since the first Dura Spark box days.

        Definately ignition related. Could be the TFI module, distributor pick up or maybe the coil but I doubt it on the coil.

          i think i narrowed it to the distributor pick up. i wiggled the wires and it started right up.

            i have been down that road and if you decide to replace the pick-up coil in the dizzy, then only use a Motorcraft pick-up coil. i have had 2 brand new "house" brands, one from AZ and one from O'reilly's, and they were both defective out of the box. Morocraft pickup coil works great.

            it is easy to replace, but if the stock dizzy bushings are worn out, then it is MSD time.
