As I understand it from other dudes using it in company, it works pretty damned well. I'm still rocking XP for work though.

I think he's referring to the term "lotta crickets up in hurra" which implies this is gonna be a lonely thread because nobody wants to try windows 8

Windows 8 is fast and smooth, I like it. Best recent release version of Windows I've used. I, too use it only in desktop mode. If I had a tablet with it on it I might use the tiles.

Running it on all 5 pc's at my house. I run start8 to bring back my start bar. Don't plan on going back to 7 ever.

boot improvements, explorer improvements, and resource reporting = reason alone to upgrade.

                    performance wise its great

user friendliness it fucking blows donkey dick

I hate having to search through "all apps" bullshit when I want to open a program. I used to keep very few icons on my desktop and now Im finding that if I use the program more than once a week then I need to put the icon on there. Also tiles fucking sucks on multi monitors!!

Start8 looks interesting but is it really worth $49.99 for the full version?

I like it so far. I don't even mind the tiles. If you think about it -- before you were digging through a list of hundreds of useless apps on a start menu "list" to find the 10-20 you always use. Now I have 10-20 tiles that are easy to find and easy to click. I can still click the start key and start typing to find anything else.

I'm using it on my work computer and still prefer Win7. Don't really care for "Tiles" as I rarely look at my Desktop.

Wife has it on her new laptop. Took her a few days to get use to it. She likes it.
