  • JJ Abrams is officially the king of all nerds.

First he directs Star Trek, now Disney is giving him the next Star Wars. I'm ok with that choice, BTW.

ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

I would have gone with Uwe Boll. That fucker can do no wrong.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

If it doesn't have Harrison Ford return as Hans Solo I couldn't care less.

While the writing for the prequels was dismal, Hayden Christensen couldn't act his way out of a cardboard box.... Sometimes a good actor can overcome bad writing/direction, sometimes a good script/direction can overcome a bad actor... but when both suck.... Well, Everything sucks....

haha, i was joking. That dude sucked as an actor.

Out of the Prequals I thought the last one was at least half way descent. But, I feel the first two were really unnecessary.

Oh dear god this is fucking unbelievable. This guy literally appears out of nowhere and he's already got both of the biggest movie franchises of all time?

I think he directed the show Alias which was pretty good. He also did Mission Impossible 3. Arguably the best of the bunch.

If I'm not mistaken he's only been directing for 10 years starting with Felicity I think. He has made a few good movies, the first of the new Stat Treks in 2009 was great... but man it sure sounds like a hell of a risk to put all those billions of eggs in one basket.

I find it funny that two franchises that don't really like each other will have one director for both.

I wonder if Spock will show up in SWVII

I really fucking hate to say this, because I'm a mega star wars fan as well, but over the last 5 years I've switched sides to being primarily a Star Trek fan. Star wars is great, the movies are fantastic, and the story is excellent. However, I feel like Star Trek is more symbolic, and timeless. I feel like I just started a 12 step program.

I think having ongoing series throughout the years has really made Star Trek more appealing. You get a lot more unique characters and its not always black and white. With star wars, there is always a good and a bad. With Star Trek, a grey line is always evident. Kirks hatred for the Klingons being one of those grey lines.

The average fan doesn't really go past the movies for Star Wars.

The average fan for Star Trek has multiple series and story lines to really choose from.
