Looking for something for my wife to purse carry or keep in the console. Wanting a 40 since I already have one and didnt want to have to stock 9mm ammo also.

If you are wanting a small single stack, I like the kahr pistols, but I would definitely have her shoot a small .40... It can be pretty snappy.

I have a Taurus Millennium Pro PT140. Aside from learning the straight 8 sights, it's a good little gun. No complaints.

Ruger SR40c, I have the fullsize and love it.

I still believe the Glock 27 is the best choice for a subcompact .40 S&W gun, combining light weight, small size, and firepower. If she wants something that weighs less, I would look at a Kahr or S&W Shield (both single stack magazines compared to the double stack G27).

I just sold my taurus pt111 9mm and like that size. I also have an xds but I think its a little much for her. I need to find a glock27 for her to try.

I had a Glock 27 and still have an H&K p2000sk. I really like both but I think the HK has a little less felt recoil. Either one is an excellent choice.

Kahr .40. My girlfriend learned to shoot semi-auto pistol with it. 7yd target, all 7 rounds dead-center in a 6" group. She's 5'0 tall and absolutely loved shooting it.

                      I would have to agree.

I bought two Glock 26s and did some mods. They are good little guns, and having 10+1 rounds of hot +P defense ammo is no joke.

I'm not saying that you should get the 26, I have a buddy with a 10 year old G27 that is basically the same gun and it is juts fine.

I have a springfield .40 sub compact and love it. It isn't very punishing to shoot. It fits in the console of my girlfriends G35 just fine

                          So she's taller than you?

Honestly for his wife I would go with a 9mm for lesser recoil regardless of brand.

Second on the 9mm! I have both a Kahr CW9 and a S&W Shield 9mm and love them both. Definitely much less felt recoil vs the 40 variants (fired both P40 and Shield 40). Take a look into them.
