  • Can I mod my phone like a PC?

Like the title says....can it be done? I have a first gen galaxy phone.

The best way I know to physically mod a first gen Galaxy phone, is to get a SIII.

Seriously though, I had a similar conversation with an XDA buddy not long ago. Short of rooting and over clocking the device I'm not sure what else can be done. I'm sure someone has switched processors on one though.

Pretty much all of the components are soldered into the main board, there's not much you can do. It's not like a PC where you can just find the best compatible pieces and stick them together.

And depending on what you change, you'd probably have to have a custom OS written.

I've got a Verizon Wireless Galaxy S3 that I'll sell you, it is an EXCELLENT phone and like new w/ less than 1 month of use. I upgraded to this phone then my employer provided me a phone, so I disconnected my VzW account and the GS3 is gathering dust. I have lots of great accessories for it too.

White Galaxy S3 32GB model with clean ESN (ready to activate, no nicks or scratches)
add-on 32GB micro-SD card (bringing total phone storage to 64GB)
OEM AC/USB power adapter and plug
          OEM Headphones/Microphone
          OEM box
          OEM box literature
iBOLT GalaxyS3 windshield suction-cup car mount (works and fits perfectly, and includes integrated customer power/audio cable)
Skinomi high-end screen protector kit new in box, Phone already has a screen protector installed FYI
2 cases (one clear, one gameboy style that doesn't fit all that great but you can have it)

Phone has the dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM, runs lightning fast, no disappointments.

$400 and it is all yours, that's a great deal especially since it includes the iBOLT car kit.
