Roll the fenders and flip the quad shocks or remove them.

Any drawbacks from removing quad shocks. I have new rear shocks and aftermarket uppee and lower control arms...

The quad shock is to help with wheel hop. Aftermarket control arms usually eliminate wheel hop, which then there is no real need for the quad shocks. Take the quad shocks off, most people do...

Unless you're hardcore drag racing the car it shouldn't make a noticeable difference by removing the quads.

Yeah, I had some 255's on my car once and was about a pinky width from rubbing theexhaust. Will I need to run turndowns as well if I go 17x10 in rear?

No turn downs. You can always flip the quad shocks too but with the aftermarket arms, there is no need for them.
