  • .22 Ammo issues

Have a Marlin Model 60 that has a ejection issue. It gets about every 3rd round stuck in the pipe!!!!
The gun is only 2 years old and is very well maintained. I don't use it very often either. This has been happening since I bought it. I'm hoping it's an ammo problem. Any idea's? What is a good brand of ammo for this thing?
    Thanks

Is the gun nice and clean? Loading ramp have a layer of junk on it?

I sold my Ruger .22 to my cousin and he can only load 9 rounds of .22 in a 10 round mag, otherwise the mag jams the first round....22 isn't really the greatest caliber apparently.

Sounds like an extractor issue to me. I would try a slight filing on the extractor, then stretching the extractor spring and see how it does.

.22 ammo is very dirty. Generally this is responsible for a lot of issues. Every ruger .22 I own is the definition of reliable. My old mk2 pistol shot over 5,000 rounds without ever being cleaned. I don't recall ever having a jam.

Try a variety of ammo in it. My GSG 5 hates the remington golden bullet ammo but will run just about everything else without issue.

My marlin model 60 shoots anything I stick in it for reference.

I'm no guru, but anytime I have ejection issues with my only 22 that is not manually operated - it is a cleaning issue. (M&P 15)
