  • 9mm upper suggestions?

I'm looking to buy a nice 9mm upper for my m16. Seems a tad trickier than I expected. I'm looking for a 5" barrel A4 flat top upper with the proper deflector and dust cover. I can't seem to find a nice package. Where should I look?

Couldnt find the barrel length. Rra has the a4 upper I need, but I'd rather buy a complete matching upper. Piecing one together seems like too much trouble.

        Someone hacked CJ's account.

I have always seen lots of 9mm AR stuff at the gun shows. Now an assembled upper the exact way you want might be a hit or miss.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

It looks like the shortest model 1 makes is 7.5". 5" seems pretty short, dude.

I had a YHM upper in 9mm for my m16. It had a 5.5" barrel and flat top upper. I think it used sten mags. Seemed like a quality kit. It was $900 when I bought it.

                  Ha!
                  subsonic, need that 5"

$2,000 for an upper, no thanks, lol. That's just a little too much. Also the colt SMG's have tendencies to damage the hammer/stop working in auto. Some of the newer manufacturers chamfer the bolt and fix the problem.

There is a 5" barrel for sale locally, but it's a 3 lug mount, I don't have or plan to have a 3 lug suppressor. I'm also going to need a quality mag block I can drop in and out.

What I can't understand is there doesn't seem to be *any* manufacturer that you can just go to their site and order a 5" full auto upper.

The reason I'm trying to avoid piecing one together is it seems the 9mm uppers differ greatly between manufacturers. If you get too crazy your shit won't work. I would have thought someone would make a working kit.

It's probably like .22 kits they either work or they don't. And most don't want to deal with the hassle or breakage.

Most all 9mm ARs I have seen use a proprietary hammer. I had a Rock River 9mm gun that used an odd hammer but it ran great. The Rock River mag block is sturdy too, it just slides in and you use an allen wrench to tighten it up in the mag well. Uses the Colt SMG mags or Uzi mags.

If you want a 5" upper you are going to have to have a barrel cut down Irwin (you have met him) made one and his can screws into the quad rail.

If I remember correctly Irwin's 9mm didn't run. He has constant jams. Did he ever get it working? That's what I'm trying to avoid.

I don't recall, but I have seen that gun run 100% before. I can shoot him an email on the details of you would like.

he had* I should say. Yeah I would be interested to know. I just need to find some good consensus on full auto 9mm uppers that run. Not much info.

I have a YHM 9MM and it is great but it will only use Metalform mag, period end of story. No other mags will work.
