  • Gas grills?

I want an inexpensive gas grill that I can fire up and grill chicken and steaks for dinner during the week. I have a smoker and a charcoal grill, and would like to add a gas grill for the ease of tuning it on and ready, rather than waiting for charcoal.

Any leads on a decent one that wont break me? Any to stay away from at all costs?

I don't have any specific recommendations but will say that now should be a good time to be buying. I am guessing most places will have them on sale.

i have a uniflame from wal mart that has worked well for me. It has infrared and 3 burners, plus a stove top. I think the wife got it for like $100 at wal mart on black friday.

I finally have to replace a heat plate. I have had this thing for 5 years without an issue.

That's basically what I have (don't remember the name for sure, but one of those common lower end units). No infrared but 3 main burners and the round side burner. The only thing I have used that side burner for is heating flour tortillas since our range is electric. It has the thicker, ceramic type grill.

Leah bought mine for me for fathers day a few years ago and it works well for our purposes. She got a good deal on it (I want to say from Home Depot, but could have been Walmart). The heat shield / flame deflector things are about toast on mine, and the electric ignitor quit working within the first year, otherwise it still works well enough.

Come get the one in my back yard. It needs new deflectors, and you'd have to buy a propane tank. Works fine.

We got a new SS built in with the new patio.

mine has the thicker grates and they seem pretty durable.

The iginitor did seem to be having issues a few weeks ago, i just wiggle some wiring or something and it worked. Not sure what that was about.

I use ours 2 or 3 times a week at least.

I used to use ours a lot more but we have tapered off a lot over the last year. The first few months we had it we were grilling a couple times a week, at least.

Baron - Make sure you get one of the gauges for the tank, and preferably a second tank. Running out of gas in the middle of cooking sucks.

exactly. I figure if I have an idea of what isnt total crap, I can find something that will fit.

Ive got two tanks and a gauge already. Ive had to finish cooking my dinner in the microwave before, I dont want to have to again.

The gauges aren't always accurate, you can weigh the tank to find out how much it has in it.
They are 17ishlbs when empty and 40-41 when full.

The one I have has always been pretty accurate, certainly better than nothing. But yeah, weighing it makes sense, I just never took the time to figure out how much the tank weighs empty. I had to get a tank refilled in Colorado last year (rather than the normal exchange) and they filled it and charged me based on weight.

If you were going to drop it in, it would require a 24"x14" hole or so. It's on a roller stand, dual burner (1 burner, 2 controls). The brand is Fiesta. It also has a side burner.

Well I have about 30"x20" of space to fill.

                              Oh well.

                              Anyone else need a grill?

It's this, without the propane tank:

                              It's faded, and needs a $20 deflector.

Free to good home, or anything close to it.
