  • Windham ARs?

I'll be the first to admit that I know jack shit about ARs.

What are y'all's thoughts on them? Anybody have any experience with their carbon stuff?

I may have a chance of getting one dirt cheap.

From what I understand they are pretty good. I beleive it's the same folks that used to be bushmaster. Bushmaster was bought out, and they started their own line.

Good guns for the money. The jury is still out on their carbon stuff, but their aluminum upper/lower built rifles are good.

I do know that this is true.

They're great guns for the money. Another upside is, their .308's are LR-308 pattern, so you can buy accessories for them without too much guess work.

So, how many AR mfgs that have popped up over the past couple years to cash in on the buying craze, will still be around 1, 2, or 5 years from now? Do you think Wyndham will be around?

Aside from the warranty does it matter? As long as they are an actual AR with all the parts being interchangeable, they work, and are not overpriced, I say go for it
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

                  I agree.

Perhaps I should have asked my question in a new thread. I was just asking, in general what everyone's thoughts were. Did not mean it to sway the OP from buying a Wyndham. If I were in the market, Wyndham would be on my list candidates...

It's 100% true, same guy who started Bushmaster started Windham after he sold Bushmaster. There was an article in one of the gun mags a year or two ago about them.

Unless you're an idiot assembling one any ar15 is about the same as far as performance. Most shooters will never use their gun enough to see the benefits of higher dollar components, and won't ever need them. Take my little 7.5" piston upper you see me post often, that has a cheap ass redxarms barrel in it. $125 I think.

Understand and don't care at the same time. Just wanted to know if what I was told was true.

                        308 will be had soon.

I'm not sure what you mean, you understand that a lot of shit is unnecessary but you don't care? To summarize what I'm saying is just about all ar15's are the same for 99% of peoples uses. I wouldn't get caught up in who makes anything. There's only a handful of real separate components out there.

Than why even bother learning anything about the platform? Just buy whatever the neck bead behind the counter recommends.

CJ, just let it be. I'll explain some other time... I promise.

I'm not worried about value down the road or anything else. Just wanted to know if they made a quality product.

                              I trust y'all's opinion. That's why I asked.

                              I'm a glock owner...so what do I know
