Did y'all see anything about the Texas Legislature considering opting out of DST?

Saw a short blurb on the news the other night and nothing since.

Let's do away with it, I'm sick of changing clocks around here. Who's with me?

Yeah, if it passes, next November we'll switch back to standard time and stay there year round as I understand it.

Is DST even necessary anymore? I don't mind extra hour of sleep in the fall, but I don't see any benefit to DST anymore
