Since I'm not doing a damn thing, I figured I'd compile a list. Ingredients that go in to a meal, are just as important as the person preparing it. Taking that in to account, depending on what it is I'm making, I try to get the best ingredients available.

(I already posted this one in the steak thread -

    Butcher -
    David's Meat Market
    4010 N. Jupiter Road
    Garland, Texas 75044
    972-495-8315

    Italian Ingredients -
    Jimmy's Food Store
    4901 Bryan Street at Fitzhugh
    Dallas TX, 75206

Open Monday – Saturday 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM
    Closed Sunday

    214.823.6180
    Fax 214.823.2104

They carry domestic, and imported provolone, mozzarella, prosciutto, salami, etc. If it's Italian, they've got it. Homemade sweet italian sausage, homemade spicy italian sausage, steaks, beef, ricotta, etc. They have ravioli stuffed with damn near anything you can imagine, homemade pasta, etc. They also have frozen pizza dough balls, that make a damn good pizza.

    Mexican -

for tortillas (I very rarely do corn), Marquez Bakery in Arlington has the best flour tortillas I've found. Fresh Daily, you can buy day olds for a buck, etc. They also have the best prepared pico de gallo ever. The peppers and tomatoes aren't light and washed out. They are very vibrant, and they use lime juice as the preservative. They also do menudo on Sundays, have good burritos, etc. It's a tortilla factory with a restaurant in front. For you mojados out there they also have Corona Familiar. It's on Division and Stadium Drive, next to Sonic.

I'll add to this later, I need a smoke.

Hirsch's Specialty Meats in Plano has a good selection and they carry prime steaks.

Captain Dave's Seafood Market in Plano used to be great for fresh seafood and all kinds of Cajun stuff but the last time I went in there it smelled heavily of fish so I left and haven't been back. Anybody know any other places like this?
