I'll read the opinion later, but who was the deciding vote?

The justice wrote in his dissenting opinion Thursday that the Supreme Court had made a "defense of the indefensible."

          Not surprised....

We got the government we voted for...

It's like other federal entitlements... we will never be rid of it.

          http://www.usdebtclock.org/

The left (who control a larger and expanding voting block, virtually all of the media and drive the current Facebook culture) and many health insurance big wigs are "all in" for a single payer system.

That's exactly where this will end.

Gruber was right - we are stupid.

          So yes... Embrace the suck....

The close of Scalia's scathing (as ususal) dissent:

The somersaults of statutory interpretation they have performed (“penalty” means tax, “further [Medicaid] payments to the State” means only incremental Medicaid payments to the State, “established by the State” means not established by the State) will be cited by litigants endlessly, to the confusion of honest jurisprudence. And the cases will publish forever the discouraging truth that the Supreme Court of the United States favors some laws over others, and is prepared to do whatever it takes to uphold and assist its favorites.

Laws don't have to mean what they say anymore. Just be interpreted to mean who ever is reading it at the time.

That dissent is very telling.... and the precedent is frightening....

They had to uphold it, it would have been a disaster if they didn't.

It really doesn't change much, the system will collapse on rate changes any way. BCBS has asked for a 20% rate increase this year and a lot of others are right behind them.

And that's the ONLY reason they sided with it! Actually wording and law be damned!

F' it! Sometimes PAIN is involved with screw ups! America has been so pansiefied that no one can fail anymore. No one will learn a damn thing and will only perpetuate screw ups.

Hillary Clinton to Anti-Obamacare Republicans: 'Move On'

To think this woman is a front runner for POTUS is frighting.

                            It'll never be repealed now.

IMO the Republican's need to change course on the issue. They need to basically acknowledge that the electorate had demanded it then outline how they will fix it so it actually works and reduces healthcare costs.

However, there is no way the ideologues will go for that.

If I ever see her or Obummer in person, I am going to have to smack them in the mouth. Of course, that wouldn't be smart, but... maybe I can think of something that would make it worth it.
