  • 65 Thunderbird aka Blackwidow

Picked this car up a year ago for my fiance and we split but I kept the car. Just putting it back together for now and getting it reliable before I get into any major work. The car was owned by a New Jersy man most of its existence untill about 2012 where it was sold (not retitled) and taken apart. It was bought by a board member and then sold to me. The car has 34,000 original miles and came with the original block and a spare engine.

Collecting dust at my old house in the back yard.

Got it to the my new house and put it inside where I could really start cleaning it and figuring out everything it needs.

The interior is strait up gangsta, it does need new front seat covers with foam, carpet and headliner but everything inside is complete and works mostly.

I put the assmbled engine in it hoping it will be ok and only cleaned it and painted it black.

Keeping the car as factory as possible(besides things I cannot help but change).

Doing teal as the only accent color since the seats are a similar color

Long terms will be a light respray on it to clean up where some asshats pryed off the trim with screw drivers. It looks like it has had a base clear done on it years ago but the body is near rust free. Already dropped the front one coil for now, time will tell how radical I go with the suspension. My goal is to make this car a road trip cruiser.

I have always liked them but have heard horror stories on them. The engineering that has gone into this car is remarkable for its options and age, I can see how it scares people away.

Yep, I hear it will move the car just fine but I bet it will get an aluminum intake and 4 barrel carb sooner or later.

That is my buddies basket case he wants me to get reliable for his son. It has been a pain in my ass for 2 years. I saved the quarterpanel on it but the rest of the car is just rotting away. Only strong poit is it runs well.

The paint has some flat spots where I ghetto spotted over the pry marks but for the most part cleaned up very well

Scraped off the gunmetal rattle can on the upper front bumper but kinda like it on the lower part.

The main complaint is all the vacuum lines that run most the accessories and the hydraulic wipers.
