Decided to upgrade from AMD 8320 to Intel. My last Intel chip was a P4, and so far this was a better building experience than with the past few AMDs.

I started doing a little tuning, and making sure it doesn't overheat. Below are a few screenshots of the results after running the intelburn test. I am going to check the thermal grease spreading on the CPU, it doesn't seem that the coolers seat as tight as with AMDs.

    Build:
    Asus Z170 Pro Gaming
    Intel i7-6700k
    Patriot 2x8GB 3200MHz DDR4 Ram
    3x120GB SSDs in a raid0
    2x HD 6870 in Xfire
    Lepa Exllusion 240 CPU cooler
Gold rated 700W PSU (brand name leaves me)
    Thermaltake Core v71 case (footrest)

The coolers should be pretty damn tight. That's probably your problem. Try using plastic or copper washers to tighten your cooler up and you should not see 70c without overclock on a regular crappy air cooler.

Those temps are close to boiling temp and you should never go that high.

Did you overclock, change your BLK, or voltage?

Holy shit, you got that thing hot. I start getting uncomfortable when mine(3770k) nears 70c. I know that's week within the thermal limits, but heat is the enemy of electronics.

There are complaints online about the fitting of some of the Corsair liquid coolers.

I know, I am trying to figure out what exactly is the issue. I used different and reapplied thermal paste, and checked how the last application looked. Then brought it down to stock settings with the Core VID, Multiplier, and Base Clock. The temps were better, but not much (90s). The cooler doesn't feel anywhere close to 90*C after a long test. The pump is plugged into a molex connector so it isn't being throttled or something strange. RAWR

Where abouts do you live? I may be able to come look at it tomorrow.

              I run a 6700k as well.

Any details on the temps yours runs at?

Reset the bios or at least make sure your cpu settings are at default, clean the TIM off the HS and cpu, reapply and reseat.

If you've done that multiple times, that's prolly not the issue then. It sounds like there's air in teh system or the pump is bad.

The cooler has a fill line, and it is above the fill line... I will lay the PC on its side, and see what happens. Idle temps are fine, just during load testing. I tried adding more pressure on the cooler to see if the temps changes, no change.
