  • F150 3.5 ecoboost with tune ?

Any of you guys with the ecoboost and tune? What gains did you see? Any track times? This is high on my next truck list at the moment. TIA

Don, a buddy of mine had a highly modded one that was pretty nasty. Getting specs and I'll post them here in a bit. I don't remember all the details.

The new aluminum ones are running high 12s with a tune only.

My buddies best was 13.3@106, 425rwhp/654rwtq. Said he had trouble with the non elec locker rear end being able to hook. And that was at 5,400lbs

I have a 2013 FX2 and it's had a tune on it since the day I bought it. I was ordering it while I was waiting on make ready. It is a completely different animal. You need to do data logs to make sure that it's running at it best after you load the tune then you can really turn the wick up. My shit runs fucking hard.

I knew Don's truck. That thing ran hard. Supposedly it's been passed around since he sold it.

Thanks, CAi and a tune is all I would do. That is impressive. No issues as of yet?

Thanks , so just throw it on a dyno to double check the tunes parameters? Damn running 12's is good. Thought my Jap truck ran good.

I have that open differential with the AUTO LSD crap. I really hate that vs a mechanical locker. That is insane torque !! Thanks for the info.

I have a intake, exhaust and tune on mine. If I had it to do over again I would save my cash and just do a tune and maybe catless down pipes or a CAC if you race/tow a lot.

SSI does my tuning and it's all custom. I will do a data log and send it to him then he'll look it over and make some revisions and send it back. Shawn is a great guy and if you shoot straight with him he'll take care of you.

Where are you located? I'll let you ride in my truck so you can feel the difference. I ran an 8.7 at K-Dale last fall.

Yeah the exhaust side on these trucks do more than the intake side. Intercooler does a lot too. They are one of the weak spots.

That e-locker apparently makes a big difference.
