A friend was there...here are the details.

Man and woman were at divorce attorney all day. She was on phone with boyfriend during that time.

Man lost his cool at red light getting on to 1709. He pulled up, got out of white truck and unloaded magazine into Jeep. He stood by the car until the police arrived.

Ambulance arrived and they put the lady in but she never moved.

Damn. This ended up being the mother-in-law of a pretty close old friend of mine. It was her husband's mom that was killed. Small world. They have four young girls who just lost their grandmother. Ugh.

One thing some people can seem to understand, you poke and prod anyone enough, they are going to snap. This goes from school age all the way to adulthood.

A Flower Mound man is accused of fatally shooting his estranged wife at a busy Southlake intersection Tuesday afternoon.

Linda Martin, a real estate agent who lived in Flower Mound, was reportedly stopped at a red light on East Southlake Boulevard near North Carroll Avenue when she was shot about 5:15 p.m.

Witnesses say a man got out of his vehicle and walked up to Martin’s Jeep. He pulled out a handgun and shot her through the window.

He was later identified by police as the victim’s husband, 52-year-old Kenneth Martin. The suspect was arrested at the scene, not far from Southlake Town Square, and taken to the Keller Regional Jail. He would be charged with murder, officials said.

Linda Martin, 55, was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine. She died there shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Linda and Kenneth Martin had recently been involved in divorce proceedings, Southlake police said.

Linda Martin’s Facebook profile noted her relationship status as “separated.” She had two children and two granddaughters, according to her page on a real estate agency’s website.

The Martins made headlines 2004 when they squabbled with their Euless homeowners’ association over their right to fly a U.S. flag in front of their home. The flag fracas became grist for talk shows and prompted a petition drive that ultimately led every member of the HOA’s board to resign.

The following year, Dallas Morning News Watchdog columnist Dave Lieber visited the Martins’ home after neighbor Margarita Montelongo, one of the HOA board members who quit, complained repeatedly about the couple’s barking dogs.

Lieber, who wrote for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram at the time, said city officials found no merit to the countless complaints and determined that some calls were made when the couple’s beagles weren’t even home.

“It’s over the flag issue,” the city’s animal services supervisor told Lieber at the time. “And she’s using us to get back at this lady, Miss Martin.”

More recently, the couple moved to Flower Mound and Linda Martin was part of a group of real estate agents known as the Linda Martin Team.

She advocated for wild peacocks in Flower Mound, and helped the city create a recent ordinance to protect the birds.

On Wednesday, her friends planned to hold an 8 p.m. vigil for her at the Peacock Park in Flower Mound.

Sad situation all around, it didn't need to end like this.

Anyone here remember the dude in University Park who choked his wife with a phone cord in a provoked fit of rage and then nearly cut her head off by stabbing her a few hundred times in the neck with a pair of scissors that his very young child was trying to cut the phone cord with?

I was wondering what happened. We passed by and that entrance to town square was closed and there was a portable cover over the jeep at the stop light with 8-10 cops standing around.
