I decided that I needed to take control of the Hog problem at my deer lease in Abilene. As if I needed a thinly veiled reason to buy another rifle.

Meet the Honey Badger. I have put my deposit down for the ECHO trigger, so "Don't Give A Shit" will actually be used. Still waiting on the trigger, grips etc.

Awesome. Can't wait to hear about the first shoot. I want to build one of these as my next build.

They are very very uncomfortable to shoot, hehe.

You are close enough to me, that we can go to a local range, and you can shoot it soon.

Thanks for the heads up CJ. I ordered the limbsaver for the magpul, so hopefully it will help.

Miss you buddy. You need to come play golf with me. I moved to a house on the Duck Creek golf course in Garland.

Why .50 Beowulf instead of .458 SOCOM or .450 Bushmaster?

because .5 is bigger than .4x?

That's a good reason. I went with 458 SOCOM when I built mine years ago because they delivered similar energy, 458 had quite a bit more bullet selection/availability, and it feeds in standard 5.56 mags. Just wondering if either of the first 2 had changed much/any or even weighed into the decision.

Really just to play on the "Honey Badger" theme. I have a ton of .45 cal stuff, so I wanted my first .50. 1.35/ round isn't that bad either, although I got the reloading dies, to further reduce that cost. The .50/.458/.450 are all so close performance wise, it was kid of hard to choose between them.

That would be awesome. I have my ar pistol I just finished I need to take out. So we could have a fun little range day.

Looks like a fun project but I must point out that pigs die just as quickly from a hit from a 5.56 as they do from a big bore anything for about 15% of the cost per shot fired.

Like you, I can not wait for my ECHO trigger to show up.

My reloading gear is starting to trickle in, and I put a Timney in it until the ECHO exists, so it is ready to sight in.
I am going to the lease Oct. 14th, so hopefully I will have some photos of the devastation caused by the 400gr. soft points.
