just me but why a 7 channel receiver with only 5 speakers, I would get both either 5 or 7
I would build the screen, my neighbor showed me his after I bought one, he used blackout curtain fabric and black velvet on a frame he built, his is very nice and the same color as my screen, kind of an off white

I couldn't find a Harman Kardon 7 speaker setup. I plan on buying 2 extra satellite speakers later. If I build a screen I'm sure it'll look like crap. I don't want ripples or anything.

You won't be unhappy with the BenQ. Mine has been bulletproof for 2 years now.

It doesn't say for sure if that receiver has HCDP pass-through, which may be an issue, may not. I bought a 579 less than 2 years ago, and can't run my premium channels through it directly because of the HDCP. I think that most of their newer receivers have HCDP compliance, but the V-series 79 has been replaced by the 81, so the one in your link isn't the latest offering.

I'd have to hear the speakers before passing judgement, but I'd bet that midbass and overall presence are lacking, and I doubt that sub is up to snuff. I don't think that you can get a decent set of towers alone for the money, and that much again at a minimum for the sub, and then you'll still need a center channel. Big screen and small sound makes no sense imo.

For what is obviously a budget build, there is nothing really wrong with anything you listed. However, you may ultimately be disappointed in that speaker package. Very small speakers in a tiny enclosure lack realism and depth. The sound stage is going to feel small and lack warmth. That subwoofer is small and under powered. Something to consider if you have a large room and/or high ceilings.

All three of the receivers you mentioned here support HDCP 2.2 pass-through (e.g., 579, 671, & 681) The 681 adds HDR and upscaling, along with Dolby Atmos & DTS:X decoding.

If you are having handshake issues, the problem is likely somewhere else in the signal chain.

Not to hijack, but I'd love to not have to move cables to switch between Apple TV, xbox, and xfinity. The 575 is the only link in the chain between the comcast box and TV, which works fine when plugged directly into the tv. I did some reading a while back, and came to realize the lack of hcdp compliance, so maybe later builds now have it, but mine doesn't. please do prove me wrong.

Not necessary. You said you had the 579 in your initial post. Now you state it's a 575. That was the basis of my post regarding HDCP.

The 575 spec page indicates that it does has pass-through support. I would re-check the settings in your AVR. Also, consider turning off HDMI CEC, if you are currently using that feature. You could just simply have a bad HDMI board in that unit or there may be a firmware update available that addresses these issues. And, of course, be sure that the HDMI cables are all high-speed.

OP - Sorry for the hijack.

Been a while since I have looked into any home theater stuff but I always tried to buy a separate Subwoofer. Usually the ones bundled in systems are very mediocre. I think the speakers will probably be good (Harmon Kardon usually is) but I would recommend buying a stronger subwoofer.

I'm a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff so I probably shouldn't be putting my opinion in there but I did anyway.
