  • Selling a Suppressor

I'm about to put my Sako TRG-42 (338LM) up for sale and I have a Thunder Beast 338P-1 that I want to sell with it. For those that have sold suppressors, I am just looking for advice. Is it easier to sell each as a stand alone item or sell it as a package? What is the process for selling a suppressor? Do I have to go through an FFL?

    Thanks for any help.

Just because of the paperwork backlog you would have to be a fool to try to sell them together. Selling a can instate is easy between individuals if you really want to sell them together.

Just from what I've seen, used cans don't bring shit and are hard to sell.

Pretty much. Why buy used when I'll have the same wait for new.

          I didn't think of that.

For me the wait is not a big deal. The initial upfront of the suppressor is more of a stopper for me than the wait. Even once purchased you can chose to wait before even sending in the Form 4 and $200 until finances recover or to lesson the blow when the wife finds out. lol

Buying a used one wouldn't bother me much as long as the buyer's sell price is consistent with the used market. Much like buying a used car, it looses most its value once you take it off the lot....I imagine.

Mike send me a PM with a price.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

This is why I liked buying them. I have paid 30 cents on the dollar for nearly new cans.

You're going to have to get really cheap or have a really specific one for me to get interested. Especially when you have the US largest stocking dealer/seller in Texas.

And that's why I was going to try and sell it as a package. With the thread pitch being specific to Sako, I figured I would have a hard time selling the suppressor on its own. I should have mentioned that in the original post.

Yeah I'd do it as a package.

If I remember corectly they have a recall on the 333P-1 and will replace it with the newer 338BA with what ever thread pitch you want.

I just emailed them and got a response in less than 2 minutes. I asked if they would be willing to exchange it with an Ultra 7 (.223) w/CB mount and they said no problem.

I have heard nothing but good things about their customer service. Isn't the ultra 7 .30 caliber?

Glad I could help out. Looks like you just have a rifle to sell now. What do you want for it?
