  • Baltimore PD - good shoot.

God damn. Fucking reflexes like a motherfucker, considering past instances of cops getting their lives destroyed in the press for pulling the trigger under similar circumstances.

I can say, with full confidence, that if I were in that cop's shoes - I'd probably be dead.

GRAPHIC CONTENT. This is the shocking moment Baltimore teenager Curtis Deal, while in the midst of a police chase, spins and points his gun at Detective David Kincaid Jr - only to be shot dead.

How does someone like that manage to post a $100k bond? Then have a judge issue an unsecured $250k one?

            From the article:

Last week he was arrested on nine gun and drug charges after being caught running from a location in which drugs were being sold.

On Monday, the day before his death, Deal's lawyer testified that his family were churchgoing people, and that he wanted to join the army to learn engineering.

I just copied that part to paste it! lol

              The rest:
Judge Nicole Taylor let him out on a $250,000 unsecured bond - meaning that he did not need to pay any money before being released - and gave him a curfew.

'I'm giving you an opportunity to go to school and not be in jail pending this trial,' she told him. 'The curfew is 1pm, 7 days a week.' He confirmed he understood.

As he left the court, she told him: 'Best of luck to you, Mr Deal.'

What's the point in a bond if you don't have to pay anything?

Same thing I wondered.. I guess that if you don't show up they can try to fine you for it later? Sounds pretty useless to me.

He'd be on the hook for the $250k if he didn't show up. The judge just took the bail bondsman out of the process for some reason. I mean they did make $10k off the thug 3 weeks prior. I'd guess the jails are probably pretty full in Baltimore.

How can they make you pay the $250k if you don't show? Garnish wages from someone who is likely unemployed?

The whole thing seems pretty fucking stupid.

It'd turn into a bench warrant and you'd owe $250k. Yeah it is stupid, like many things in our legal system. Or another possibility is that maybe the person was someone's informant and they wanted him back at work ASAP. He was obviously pretty heavily involved in some kind of organized crime.

I guess that's the face you make when you know you fucked up for the last time.
