Yes......the police can certainly run it for you in that situation!

I was told since it was on private property, not much they could do.

Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

Not necessarily true. File a accident report and include the name of your witness. You'll get better traction with your insurance claim having a police report vs. not having one.

Theft and other things happen on private property too, they still do something about it. Tell them to quit being lazy fucks and get their asses in gear.

The book says we don't have to work an accident in a private parking lot. However, if they read a bit closer, private means no access to the public or fenced in basically. Now that being said it was a hit and run which is a is a completely separate offense and not an accident. Generally, if you don't have much damage you don't want an accident report anyway. It only hurts you in the long run. An offense report does not. Only in house stuff and not turned over to the state.

Someone does and hit and run on my vehicles, no matter where it happens. The first call is to the police department. If they refuse to come out I would explain that even though it was private property it is still in a public access area which makes a hit and run "a crime". The second call is to my insurance.

And the third call is to SVO because "he knows a guy".

Of course. That is why I didn't say anything. I just thought that was a known fact!
