  • Iphone 8

I currently have the iPhone 7 Plus and am eligible to upgrade to the iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 plus. Just curious if it’s worth the upgrade or if I should wait for the iPhoneX?? Thoughts??

The X is out next month, so why not just wait and see if you like it.

That said, IMO the 7plus is a damn good phone. I think the X looks great but I'm thinking I'll wait another year and get a phone that has fixed all the problems they'll eventually find with the X.

        I hear that.

I have a International version of the S5 with dual sims. More technology than I'll ever need in a phone. I won't update unless it crashes. No way I'm paying $600-$1K for a telephone, just on general principle.

I got the 8+ a few weeks back I like it. Can’t tell a difference between it and the 7+. Might as well hold off till the X comes out. I don’t like the glass back. I do like the water resistance of the 8. That’s about it.

Neither the 8 or X is worth the upgrade from a 7 Plus. The A11 processor isn't that much faster and they all have the same amount of RAM.

The X is a botched/rushed afterthought. I'll wait till they get rid of the horrible notch and put touch ID back. There's no way I'm buying a phone that requires me to hold it up towards my face to unlock it.

i am not really into the latest and greatest phone, even more so at these prices.

my six s is still going, and my wife is waiting on this x phone to see if it is worth it.

i too am not keen on the face thing. seems like more of my actual personal details are getting stored somewhere. also, my kid will be destroyed because he likes pressing the button and having siri say his name. he is only one, so i may not even let him touch this phone due to the price. he is the only reason i still have an iphone. the moving picture deal is awesome. like a gif with audio. that is probably one of my favorite things.

if it was not for the moving picture thing, i would have moved to samsung when i found out about the wireless charging. my only real complaint is when i plug it in to charge, it does not always charge. i have cleaned it and everything. annoying as shit.

The 7 is pretty much water proof, I've taking it swimming and made videos underwater without issue.

Why not? You've got to hold it up to your face to actually look at it. IF it works right, they've actually made it easier.

I am going to stick with my iPhone 6s plus as long as it lasts. That being said, I believe iPhones are among the few devices where all the hype surrounding new releases may actually be justified.

IF is a big question. With what happened at its premiere, I'm not sold that it's going to be problem free.

The X's biggest con is although its a "larger" screen than the the plus model, there's actually less screen real estate than it.

Not to mention it is $1000! That is insane. And if you want more storage, you are forced to pay an additional $150 for it (64gb is not enough if you have apps and want to take 60 fps 4k video).

$1149 for a phone with enough storage, plus $200 more for Apple Care plus (you'd be a fool not to have it on this thing)...you're at $1460 with tax....Apple has lost their minds....

Petty ca$h for the high-rollers on this site. Simply play one of the lock sports picks from Captain Crawfish and you'll have more than enough scratch for 5 of the latest iPhone rollouts along with a half-dozen cowskins.

From the reviews I've read and watched, it's not much of an upgrade unless you are wanting those new features.

As far as the Face ID issue they had at the premier, it would make sense what happened the way they explained it; that so many people were messing with it before it was brought on stage that it locked the phone.

Me personally, I don't care about the Face ID or the wireless charging (because it's not fast charging). The camera is somewhat better but you might not be able to tell the difference between the 7 and the 8. To me it would be worth waiting another year for the next iPhone update.

Iphone and samsung are not the only options out there.

There's a couple lesser known phones that measure up pretty good.
                            I'm using a One+ 2, (company name One+, phone name "2").

I think they're up to the one+ 5 now, which is under $500 and hangs with in there with the s8, beating it in some aspects.
