  • Would you buy a rental

I found an Expedition with low miles but it spent 30,000 miles as a rental. Carfax is clean, good service history, no accidents. Interior and exterior all look in great shape. Seats look good and no stains on carpet.

Would you buy a vehicle that was a rental?

I owned a rental mustang once and never had a problem with it. It was a CPO, and I took it to just over 130K miles.

Depends on the car more than anything. A truck yes a performance car, lol hell no

We bought a ford escape two years ago from carmax and it was a fleet vehicle. Could have been a rental or company car, they didin't show that much but it had about 30k on it if memory serves. Had it for a year and were going to keep it, never had a single issue out of it. Only reason I traded it off was the wife convinced me to get a wrangler since I would enjoy it more. We just looked the escape over really well and it had been taken care of. Probably would not buy a performance car that had been a rental, but few people beat the piss out of escapes. I would do it again.

                No. Rentals are abused.

I've owned two. An 01 Chevy Metro, and a 2014 Smart. Both were in decent shape, no real issues. I wouldn't have a problem with it, if the price was right.

NEVER EVER BUY A RENTAL, PERIOD. Use them where I work, last car I got hadn't had the oil changed in 15k miles. They never take care of them, run the hell out of em.

When I worked at RP we were at Atco Dragway or English Town and threw a N2O system onto a rental car and ran brackets in it. It did pretty well surprisingly and we made it to the final round before we lost. We also used to see how badly we could fuck up a rental car at every race we went to.

In other words, do not buy a rental car.

You seem to have forgotten your last rental tall tale.

Those were unlikely to be resold so I left them out.

When I worked for national rental car back in college, we had a few cars that went 25k miles with no oil changes and were running on 3 quarts of oil or less. run away unless it is a rental from an exotic type place with full rental and maintenance history. Only one I might consider is a van or truck from some place like Capps, but NEVER a Uhaul or other...
