  • Farmers Branch Officer Sentenced to 10 Years for Killing Brown Dindu Nuffin

Wasn't expecting such a harsh sentence on this one. I mean the guys were 16 year-olds and already stealing suv seats. I'd say they'd be graduating to GTA at 17 then home burglaries at 18. After that we'd be flipping the bill for their extended stay Downtown.

To hear Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson say she definitely wanted more than a 10 years...on one of her own???...I was left a bit dumbfounded to say the least.

The officer did over react but 10 years? Should've been more like 10 months

Let's see if I got this straight: after seeing kids stealing seats from his SUV while off-duty, he got in his own personal vehicle, chased them down, pitted them and opened fire into the vehicle, killing the driver. First kid is dead so he opens the door and fires 4-6 more shots at another kid's head, all while never seeing a weapon, just the typical "he reached down and it scared me" BS excuse.

He should've got the death penalty. Any civilian would've been fried for this and he should be treated no differently. Hold him to a higher standard as far as I'm concerned since he's supposedly trained to handle those situations.

I forgot about the second guy. "Edgar Rodriguez, who was 16 at the time, survived but lost a finger and was shot in the ear."

When people ask him how he lost a finger and an ear lol I wonder if he'll say he was caught stealing or victim to a rogue cop

So basically he's going to be on record stealing twice.

                  Awesome.

Who is going to write him the chooo chooo check? The former police officer who hasn't had a job in a few years and who spent his savings on a lawyer?
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

I am okay with this. More cops need to be held to the same standard civilians are.

While I agree the cop grossly overstepped his authoriti on this one...

both thieves (should) assume much responsibility for their own actions... don't be breaking into vehicles and stealing property and you might not get shot by the owner of said vehicle... cop or not.

I wish they would have let him off with probation.

and of course the media rarely has any mention of the initial incident that started the chain of events the leads us to the current conclusion.

In a use of deadly force situation, I personally am not going to chase down anyone stealing property with the intent to fire on them. In this case the sentence to me seems likely justified, but I wasn't on the jury so I'll accept their verdict as is.
